What is Club Heroes? It’s a club for youth and their parents with two purposes …
1) Provide a safe, fun and positive environment to play Dungeons & Dragons’ 5th Edition with the help of professional Game Masters. These Game Masters will lead weekly D&D games designed for parents and young players at the Club; 2) Be a teaching aid for young players and their parents so they can learn how to lead D&D games and receive the skill-building benefits of fantasy role-playing. Members will receive special learning projects each week to work on between in-person sessions that will trigger their creativity, not to mention a number of valuable skills, like reading, math and reading comprehension. The Club will run weekly for 8 sessions. What will members do?There are two parts to being in the club:
1 _ Weekly, in-person sessions held in private rooms at Twin Cities gaming retail stores. The in-person events will be held on weeknights. 2 _ Once a week, if participants choose, they can get on a webinar or Messenger Chat with one of the Club Heroes’ professional Game Masters and get advice on their in-between session projects. What Club parents sayJennifer C., Club Heroes parent participant: "We joined Club Heroes to find a D&D gaming group for my son. However, it turns out to be even better than that with the additional lessons on how to become a GM and write your own adventure. As a parent, I'm happy to be able to include the work in our homeschooling."
Jeremiah, Club Heroes parent participant: "We are in the middle of the class right now but are really enjoying building up to our own adventure. I would recommend this for any parents and kids that would like to do something together as it's really fun to create a story and roll a few dice." Nicolas B., Club Heroes parent participant: "Heroes B&B is a fantastic program and a great introduction to the world of D&D. Heroes was the highlight of my son's week. Would highly recommend!" |

What will be taught?
Fantasy role-playing games have the uncommon ability to grab a child's interest and never let go. The result is an insatiable appetite for all things relating to fantasy, leading to reading - even for your stubborn, non-readers! - and other valuable skills.
Club Heroes will teach young kids how to become fantasy game leaders - called "Game Masters" - by showing them how to build fantasy worlds, including creative adventures and in-depth characters.

Club Heroes' Learning & Adventure
Club members will create an island (see map below) in a fantasy setting created by Club Heroes after receiving creative guidelines from professional Game Masters. The Game Masters - part of the 5-star-rated Heroes B&B D&D gaming service - also will lead weekly D&D games as part of the club.
CLUB HEROES FAQ
Is this for parents or their kids?
Actually it's for both. Club Heroes will provide two elements: 1) a fun and positive environment to play Dungeons & Dragons’ 5th Edition in with the help of professional Game Masters, and 2) a teaching aid for young players and their parents so they can learn how to lead such games and receive the skill-building benefits of fantasy role-playing. Our goal with Club Heroes is to teach participants how to create their own D&D fantasy adventures and enjoy these at their leisure. This is why we require both parents and their young gamers to participate in Club Heroes.

Can parents who haven't learned D&D participate in the Club?
Absolutely! We wholeheartedly invite parents to join their kids in this entertaining activity, even if they’ve never done so before. (We’ve taught a lot of first-time fantasy role-players!) We believe this will lead to more valuable family gaming in the future.
Can anybody play at Club Heroes?
No. The club will be reserved for parents and their children only. Young gamers will include kids in elementary, middle school and high school. Youth attending college and/or adults without children will not be allowed.
How many people will be involved?
We will have up to eight participants in the Club Heroes room and a professional Game Master that has worked for Twin Cities gaming service provider Heroes B&B (a 5-star rated company on Facebook and Google).
Why is this valuable to youth?
Fantasy role-playing allows youth to experience imaginative worlds with their peers and parents in a relaxed setting that stimulates creativity and colloboration. Role-playing also often leads youth towards creating their own adventures, which requires the practice of valuable skills like reading, basic math, reading comprehension and public speaking.
